Attendance Matters!
Too many absences can make learning hard and cause students to fall behind. Chronic absence - missing 10 percent of the school year, or just 2-3 days every month - can lead to lower grades and test scores. It is also related to lower reading and math skills, and high school graduation rates.
To increase our student attendance, in 2026-2027 we are introducing the ATTENDANCE CUP.
Pickford Publics Schools and Rudyard Area Schools will be competing monthly for daily attendance. The school with the best attendance will win monthly rewards that will culminate with one school being awarded the ATTENDANCE CUP WINNER!
This year-long competition is designed to be competitive, fun, and promote daily student attendance. It will also result in the administrators from the two districts having to participate in some silly rewards for their schools.
Stay tuned for more details and parents, start planning now to make sure your children are in attendance as much as possible for the 2026-2027 school year!
