Hello,

My name is Kyle Rairigh. I am the Elementary Principal at Pickford Public Schools.

Fall and the beginning of the school is my favorite time of the year. It is always exciting to see all the students again.  I am here to support all the students as they gain the best education they can and ensure they are in a safe environment.

Professional History

Kyle Rairigh is a 1999 PHS alumni. He then went to NMU to pursue a degree in Industrial Arts Education, and Physical Education. He started his teaching career in Romulus Community Schools as a middle school woodshop teacher. After a successful 1st year of teaching, he returned to the Upper Peninsula and worked at Brimley Area Schools for 12 years. While teaching woodshop, technology and P.E. at Brimley, he earned his school administration degree from CMU. In 2017 he and his wife Julie (also a PHS alumni) returned to Pickford with their two children when he became the MS/HS principal. After 7 years, he became the K-12 principal and then his current position, K-5 principal. During his principalship at PPS he has also taught woodshop and officiating classes.

OK2SAY is the student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.
