Mrs. Lytle's class raised 3 turtles this year and released them last week. 🐢 See you around Godzilla, Snappy, & Rosie! 👋

Come join us on Thursday, May 16th, as we celebrate our MS/HS students' class achievements.

Appropriate Clothes:
As weather gets warmer, Sleeves and Pants get shorter.
We want to be sure students remember that they must still follow the school dress code. The information is on Page 25 of the Student Handbook for general guidelines and can be found at: https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/1961212/PPS_Student_Handbook.docx.pdf

Mrs. Herschell's class was using online books and videos to research Alligators and Crocodiles to fill out their informational posters! 🐊

Mrs. Brood's class had their⭐️Star Jar⭐️ reward celebration! All students in their class got to enjoy the reward. The class filled the 🌟star jar🌟 by receiving compliments for positive behavior (from other adults in the building), completing and turning in their class-work/assignments on-time, and meeting/surpassing their goals on the NWEA assessment this winter. Students chose to have milkshakes and play some games outdoors. They had a blast! They also played kick-the-can!

Join us for an Evening with the Arts!

Pickford is so fortunate to have Jessica Rudd as part of our teaching staff. She is a very skilled instructor who works tirelessly to help our students succeed in the classroom. She sets high standards for herself and her students, and she prepares our students well for college level English classes. Jessica is constantly reading and researching to improve her professional practice. She has developed an outstanding high school English curriculum and engages in high quality instructional practices in the classroom. She encourages students to achieve at their highest level, and she quietly applauds them when they reach the goals, she knows they are capable of. Besides her work in the high school English classroom, Jessica serves as the Student Council Advisor and has been a mentor teacher for several new staff.
Jessica also is a listening ear for students when they need one. Students reach out to her as they know she will support them and find them help in a discrete way. Thank you, Jessica, for taking an active role in shaping our students for success! We appreciate all that you do to make our district GREAT!!!

Lisa is an amazing asset to our team. She works tirelessly in her paraprofessional role to support her 1 to 1 student and practices gradual release to help them gain independence. Lisa goes above and beyond every day, extending her support to the rest of the classroom. According to the teachers she works with, it often seems like Lisa is a co-teacher rather than support staff in the classroom! She naturally knows when to jump in to assist with academics and flexibly redirects unexpected behaviors. Lisa values her own learning. She strives to be at her best and share any learning that she has had with her teammates; she always has thoughtful ideas to contribute when situations arise. She is amazing at building positive rapport with each and every student, and she is caring and compassionate when dealing with all students as well. She has a way of putting students and staff at ease when working with her. Our whole class (really our whole school) is a better place with Miss Lisa in it!
