Mrs. Herschell
This is my 15th year teaching and my 7th year at Pickford. I have held the positions of ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education), Kindergarten, and 1st grade.
I am from Sault Ste. Marie, MI and graduated from Sault High in 2007. I received my Bachelor of Elementary and Special Education degree from Southern Utah University in 2010. I did my student teaching in Las Vegas, NV in the Fall of 2010 before moving back to Michigan and starting my first teaching position. I received my Master of Education degree in Integrated Curriculum from the American College of Education in 2024.

Kindergarten Supply List
Expectations
1 backpack (no wheels), clearly labeled with name and easy to fit a folder, a snack, and snow gear for winter months
Shoes easily done and undone by kinder, clearly labeled with name
Full change of clothing in a gallon ziploc bag
1 bath/welcome mat sized rug (we will use this during rest/relaxation times to help teach personal space)
6 glue sticks
1 pair of child-sized scissors-clearly labeled with name
1 watercolor paint set (usually comes with paintbrush, but if not a small brush as well)- clearly labeled with name
3 boxes of crayons (24 count or less)-clearly labeled with name
1 -4 pack black dry erase markers (preferably the skinny ones)
1 pencil box (one of the inexpensive plastic ones) -clearly labeled with name
1 package of washable markers (10 pack or less)-clearly labeled with name
1 reusable and washable water bottle -clearly labeled with name. We will be sending this back and forth to school daily. ● 4 containers of playdough (any color)
1 box of gallon size ziploc bags
1 pair of headphones (not earbuds)-clearly labeled with name AND in a ziploc bag
6- #2 pencils (although cute, the pencils with plastic coatings clog our sharpener)
1 spiral bound notebook
1 red 2 pocket folder
1 coloring book (kids choice)
Indoor Tennis Shoes for gym and classroom and Outdoor shoes/boots for recess
A complete change of clothing (labeled in a large Ziploc bag)
**WINTER TIME** - snow pants, boots, hat, mittens, warm jacket
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE TO THE CLASSROOM, WE CAN ALWAYS USE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
