OUR BUILDING PROJECT IS UNDERWAY!!!

The woodshop has been emptied and tools and equipment are stored in the semi-trailer behind the school.  Thanks to Mr. Nettleton’s shop students for doing an excellent job assisting with the move!  Asbestos abatement has been completed in the shop and we are awaiting air quality testing to be completed so that salvaging of fixed items can proceed prior to demolition.

The kitchen has been (mostly) relocated to the town hall.  Thank you to Mrs. Bush, Mrs. Barber, and Mr. Miller for coordinating that move and to everyone who helped.  Food Service staff are set to manage new lunch ordering, delivery and pick-up procedures when we return from Spring Break.

The doorway to the multi and kitchen areas have been closed up with drywall, and we have found out that we will not need to build the temporary wall after all, saving us time and money!

Materials, equipment, and contractor trailers are being delivered/dropped off.  Samples are here and some initial selections have been made.  We will be meeting with our architects (IDI) early next week to review color schemes and make further selections.  Patrick Fritz, our project Field Manager from Wolgast has been onsite all week coordinating and supervising as contractors arrive and begin work.

If you have questions about anything having to do with the project, please let me know.  I plan to send out weekly updates so you can see how things are progressing.  While we may run into a few inconveniences as we finish out the school year in the midst of a construction project, they can be overcome and all will be well if we remember patience and flexibility, and think about what an exciting time this is for our district.  Things are finally moving forward!
